Meet the Book Genie!
Jeanne De Vita (gee-knee like genie in a bottle) has worked in publishing in various editorial roles since 2011. A second generation romance reader and writer, she came of age during the "golden age" of romance publishing and is considered one of the most impactful romance writing instructors and editors working in the freelance space.
Jeanne works with large brands as well as aspiring authors, ghostwrites, and publishes under a pen name. You can find her on YouTube being interviewed, working as a book doctor, on podcasts, and teaching at UCLA Extension as well as at Writers.com and in the Novel Certificate Program at Stanford Continuing Studies every winter. (As well as any other classes they offer her during the year!)
While Jeanne specializes in romance, her clients have successfully signed with agents and publishers in historical fiction, literary fiction, thrillers, horror, nonfiction, and more.
Jeanne prides herself on a warm, actionable, and educational approach. She may be direct and honest, but she'll make sure you feel supported as you level-up your craft.
She holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing with a concentration in Fiction from the University of Notre Dame and a B.A. in English from Iowa State University. Jeanne lives and works in Los Angeles, and shares a German Shepherd named Molly with her roommate/tech guru Michael Lee.
